80s~Modern Anime/Manga
80s Anime/Manga: Golden Years
Manga:
The shojo Manga started to become more stylish. The romance manga became a little popular. It was emotional, and is imaginative(creative). An example of romance manga is Miwa Ueda's Peach Girl, and Fuyumi Soryo's Mars. There are many interesting genres of Manga. In the stories you can meet strange and unusual characters. For example, Fruits Basket, the popular Manga in America (there is the picture of Fruits Basket in pile of pictures). In the story, these characters who live in wood can change in to some kind of animals and they could change into Chinese Zodiac animals as well. Weird, isn't it? There are Heroic manga, too. For example, Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon. This manga has heroic manga characters and it's also very introspective. And for other manga that are heroic is the CLAMP'S Magic Knight Rayearth. It's about three girls who become magical warriors and try to save Cephiro - the princess of the kingdom - from enemies of another world.
Mid 80s:
Ladies Manga started to increase. Ladies manga can called "Redisu Manga". Redisu manga and art has been often but, it was kind of naughty and it was a very emotional genre of manga. In the 21st century, manga for women and girls represented materials for pre and early teenagers.
Men’s manga has 2 different types of manga. One is for boys: shonen manga - you must be older than 18 years old - and men's manga: seinen manga - 18 - 30 years old. It includes male heroes and good humor. From the 1950s, the sci-manga was popular to young adults (shonen/seinen). Like space travel and robots. And they had super natural power characters on some mangas. There are zany and imaginative ones. It’s called Sgt.frog. It’s about frog aliens from space landing on Earth.
By the 1980s, girls and women began to watch shonen manga, which is boys manga. It started to incrising and incrising.
1990s: Glenat published the first manga became popular in France, which sounds great, and in mid-1990s, anime and manga in France became phenomenon in France. Very popular! Segolene Royal published a book, but in some manga, this book has been described as dangerous and violent to people. And other adult content controversy was applied to hentai manga (it's Ladies manga, not Girls manga and hentai has very inappropriate scenes and naughty scenes. So it's only for adult. And boys, don't watch hentai manga). Manga has been made in France, Brazil, Germany, Indonesia, Oceania, Russia, Singapore, the United States and Thailand. Wow!
